GOVERNOR EMMANUEL APPLAUDS UNITY AMONG GOVERNORS DESPITE POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS ° By Aniefiok Macauley

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, has applauded the bond of love and unity existing among the present crop of state governors in the federation despite different political platforms.
Governor Emmanuel who spoke recently in Katsina, capital of Katsina state at a luncheon held in his honour, by the government of Katsina State as part of activities to mark the celebration of its 30th anniversary said “ if Nigeria can be this blessed with this crop of Governors for the next ten to fifteen years, believe me, we will record a remarkable development in this country, because in the present set of Governors, we see love and unity.”
In his words "political parties are just platforms that enables us deliver service to our people and at the end of the day we are all held accountable.”

Emmanuel who used the occasion to extoll the leadership qualities of his host, Alhaji Aminu Masari, said “the difference between leadership is not in terms of academic qualification, leadership comes from the heart which gives vent to passion,zeal, patriotism and that undiluted visionary leadership is what i have found in Governor Aminu Masari".
He said that his passion and love for his people, the zeal to move the state to the next level, the patriotism that overshadows every selfish interest is in governor Masari.

He also paid tribute to the forebears who made agitation for the creation of both Akwa Ibom and Katsina states stating “ it is not by coincidence that we are the ones celebrating this thirty years but we pay tribute to them and we also salute all the quality leadership that we had in the past thirty years and most especially the military regime that created these two states.

Emmanuel who prayed for divine direction and fulfillment for both Akwa Ibom and Katsina states as they both celebrate 30th anniversary said “I pray that these states would continue to fulfill their dreams. I pray that we will leave a legacy to our people and continue to drive with passion the development of AkwaIbom and Katsina State to their destined greatness".
It will be recalled that both Katsina and Akwa Ibom states were created by General Ibrahim Babangida led Military junta on the 23rd September 1987.
