In an era where professionalism is a pivotal tool for an effective discharge of legislative functions, re-evaluation of the Academic background and indepth assessment of a candidate's political antecedent/ achievement is too important to be overlooked.
Dr Emmanuel Udosen is indeed too profiled to be ignored by the good people of Abak state constituency, Come 2019.
Born on March 27th,1974 to the royal family of Obong Anthony Udosen of Eka Nto Obo in Midim Clan of Abak LGA, Dr Udosen attended St Paul's school, Utu Etim Ekpo where he obtained his FSLC in 1983.
He obtained his WASSC from Queen of Apostle Seminary, Afaha Obong, in 1989.
In 1997, being found worthy in learning and in character, the University of Calabar presented to him, a B.Sc in sociology.
On completion of his first degree and in his quest to understanding the society, human social interaction, the rules and processes that bind and separate people not only as an individual but also as members of an association, Dr Udosen obtained a masters Degree (M.Sc) in Development sociology in 2005. Five years later, he obtained a PhD in industrial sociology.
To be fully equipped for public service and to avoid being ignorance of any law, he went in for a degree in Law in the University of Uyo. After a successful completion of studies, Dr Udosen proceeded to the Nigeria Law School and was called to Bar in 2013.
This sociologist and legal luminary has so many journals to his credit.
Unlike many youths, Dr Udosen has never been found wanting in the society. He finds joy in being busy and in rendering services to God and Humanity.
He worked as an administrative officer in Akwa Ibom State independent electoral Commission. (AKISIEC).
From 1998 to 2001, he served as an administrative Officer in Kano Rehabilitation Board.
Between 2001 and 2002 he worked as an associate Editor in service newspaper ltd. Portharcourt.
Leadership is not strange to this QAS Alumnus, therefore it won't be out of place to say that this ex-Seminarian was born to be a leader.
In the minor seminary, he held so many leadership positions.
In 1996, the mantle of leadership felt on him as the president of Abak Students Association.
In 1997, he was the president Annang students Association.
In 2005, he was the president Akwa Ibom state post graduate association.
2013 to 2014, president Akwa Ibom state Lawyers in the NLS.
He is a One time president supreme council of youths, Abak.
Pioneer president, National Council of Annang youths.
One time President Abak, Etim Ekpo, Ika youths consultative Assembly.
President National Council for Annang youths (NACAY).
Dr Emmanuel Udosen is the immediate past Chairman of Abak Transition Committee, his appointment into this position was not a mistake but a return on the political investments he made over the years. His love for his people made him to resign as the Secretary Akwa Ibom international airport management company to be a transition committee Chairman.
Politically, he has fought a good fight and has fully paid his dues.
He co-ordinated the coalition of Abak youth groups for Godswill Akpabio.
He was a member Abak LG election committee.
Member legal committee Udom/Moses.
Member intra party committee.
Member Udom Moses state campaign organisation.
Abak Chapter coordinator of transformation initiative for good governance.
Above all, he has led various groups too numerous to mention for successful outings.
As a transition Committee Chairman in Abak LGA, Dr Emmanuel Udosen justified his appointment by exceeding the expectations of both his immediate constituency and beyond.
He has proven to the indigenes of Abak and indeed the whole world that he is "too profiled to be ignored". This man deserves and has what it takes to be a good ambassador of both Abak, Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
As a Transition Committee Chairman of Abak LGA, below are some of his achievements:
*Introduction of monthly prayer summit.
*Introduction of compulsory monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
* Repair of abandoned Chairman’s official Vehicle (Prado Jeep)
*Repair of moribund Council’s road infrastructure maintenance facilities.
* Donation of brand new music instruments to the Abak Local Government Nursery/ Primary School and renovation of their toilet facility.
*In partnership with ECEWS, empowering over 25 market women with N25,000 each, to improve their businesses.
* Organized an anual Chairman’s Cup Football Competition, for the 11 Wards in the area, likewise donating customized set of jerseys to the participating teams.
*Sponsored more than 20 indigenes of Abak to cheer the Abak United Football Club of Uyo to victory in Lagos during the 2015 Federation Cup final.
*Organized a well attended maiden edition of “Abak Christmas Carnival which featured; Choir Competition, Little Miss Abak, Comedy and award presentations.
*Flagged off massive grading of rural roads in Abak, beginning with the Nto Otong-Uruk Obong Road (the road leading to the Palace of the Paramount Ruler).
*Sealing-off illegal motor-park that was operating in the area, thereby making the local government motor-park functional again.
*Attraction of multi-billion naira foreign investors; Iniakams Limited and Qualfin Limited to Abak Local Government Area. At the completion of projects being built by these investors, there will be a momentous industrial revolution in Abak and surroundings, with an estimated 30,000 indigenes getting employed as a result.
*Through Tilapia Island Resort, Abak is today, a tourist centre with the best recreational park. With over 100 indigenes employed.
*Special empowerment of 20 Market women with the sum of Ten thousand naira to help boost their businesses.
*Monthly publication of Abak LGA Newsletter.
* Ward-to-Ward tour to interact with youth.
* Empowerment of over 100 youth on Revenue generation points.
*Monthly clearing of grass along Abak – Ikot Ekpene highway.
* Monthly Desilting of all gutters in all the streets of Abak.
*Publication of 2016 Abak Local Government Almanac.
*Repainting of the Local government secretariat
* Purchase of six dumpsites where refuse are emptied.
* Introduction of daily picking of refuse from households in Abak thereby stopping indiscriminate dumping by residents.
*Provision of three convenient facilities at Abak main market, New market and Abak International Nursery School.
*Remodelling of Abak LG council Secretariat.
Promotion of grassroot development
*Masterminder of Abak industrial revolution
*fertiliser company has signed MOU to invest in the area
*DAAR communication sub station in Abak among others.
*Completed and furnished the long abandoned office complex in Abak local government Secretariat. And lots of other achievement.
All these good works have earned him several awards:
-He is IDORENYIN nto Afaha Obong.
-Iberedem mkparawa Afaha Obong.
-Winner of 2016 Local government merit Award in Abuja
-Award as the best sporting chairman by YSFON.
-Award of excellence by Sport Writers Association of Nigeria.
Award of excellence for outstanding rural governance by the Association of former elected Councillors of Abak
and many others.
He is utuenikang Abak as confered on him by the Abak council of village heads.
Indeed, Dr Emmanuel Udosen is fit to represent His constituency in any political position.
Truly, Dr Emmanuel Udosen should be internationalised; He is too profiled to be 'ignored'. No wonder the good people of Abak State constituency seek for him.
