The apex youth body in Uda community, Mbo Local Government Area, the Uda Community Youth Development Organisation (UCYDO) has commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr.Udom Emmanuel for mobilising contractor to complete the long standing Uko Nteghe-Afi-Uda bridge on the Etebi-Enwang road within 18 months.

Recall that the Commissioner for Works, Mr.Ephraim Inyang on behalf of the Governor recently went on an inspection of the construction of the abandoned Etebi-Enwang road where he assured the people of Mbo that the bridge, reputed to be the longest bridge in southern Nigeria alongside the road would be completed and commissioned within 18 months.

His Excellency has once again demonstrates himself as a listening leader.
"When the bridge and the road are completed, it would links the whole of Uda community to the rest of the State, particularly Esit Eket and Eket local government areas. This road would boost economic activities in Uda community, particularly Ibaka in particular and Mbo as a whole. With this road, people would now have alternative road and the shortest road from Mbo to Port Harcourt", the Uda youth President stated.
The President, however pledged the support of the youth to the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
It would be recalled that the Etebi-Enwang road was the only big project awarded by the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio in the five local government areas of Oro Nation immediately after being sworn into office in 2007.
The abandonment of the road and the bridge which traverses villages in Uda community, has over the years rendered the road impassable, thereby subjecting the indigenes of the area and road users to untold hardship.
