Popular Chief Priest Consults The gods, Drops His Opinion On The Proposed Akwa Ibom state governors Lagos Lodge

A popular chief priest from Okobo Local government of Akwa ibom state, whose real name is John Ntekim, after he trawled through the activities of the parties involved in taking the good name of the state to the gutters, has through his pious mentality decided to be unbiased and non partisan. The young and highly intelligent chief priest who doubles as an activist dropped his opinion on the proposed Lagos lodge which the governor of Akwa ibom state, Udom Emmanuel, intends to execute in no distance time.
As all episodes displayed by various political factions in the state gets piquant with no intention of piping-down by any of the faction, the raver wrote this piece...

MY OPINION ON THE LAGOS LODGE SAGA AND AKWA IBOM STREET FIGHT IN LAGOS
Our governor brought this trouble, the protesters disgraced us and the thugs brought us shame afterwards. These all happened because our House of Assembly does not exist.
I have never been this shamed as a citizen of Akwa Ibom State.
This shame (ndók) grows more colossal and vast as I continue to ponder on why youths from my dear state constantly grow immature by day, instead of growing to join their contemporaries in other states on the ladder of civility and 'common sense'.
The most painful ingredient making up the shame which is starring me in the face as I write this piece, is the foolishness that led some jesters to travel to faraway Lagos State, just to ensure they continue in ruining the picture of other ethical Akwa Ibom people, against the common parlance "Do not wash your dirty linens in public".
Fact be told, the disrupted protest witnessed yesterday, 10th August, in Lagos State has brought the democratic disposition of Governor Udom Emmanuel and that of his administration to disrepute. Meanwhile, the idea of the protest, whether you and I accept it or not, has attacked the reputations of Inibehe Effiong and his associates, as their reasons for embarking on the said protest remain unconvincing to an impartial mind.
Yes. Buck cannot be passed, because both sides have contributed to this national embarrassment of disgracing Akwa Ibom on a foreign land. The opinion that both parties (the government and the protesters) lacked quality explanations to give in respect to the 'Lagos lodge saga', kept me from discussing the topic overtime.
In my judgement, an intention to build a lodge is not as disgusting as Inibehe and co. make it seem, but the time in which this project is initiated makes the governor's proposal an abominable and detestable one.
However, my greatest surprise is how the protesters choose to 'flog' the state's Chief Executive alone, allowing members of the House of Assembly who should receive more strokes for being 'The people's Assembly' in theory and 'beggars' in practice go unbeaten. Parliament is an instrument of social engineering, except where we come from.
Is it true that Akwa Ibom people only elect representatives without learning the constitutional functions of a parliamentarian? If the people themselves are the ones checkmating excesses of the executive arm of government, of what essence is the existence of the legislature? You can't elect someone to speak for you, yet, you continue to speak for yourself. Indeed, party politics has weakened parliamentary democracy in our country, but if a degree of criticisms directed at the governor is received by members of the House, I believe we'll achieve a difference, no matter how little.
Additionally, I do not grasp where the origin of that idea of protesting against a Supplementary Budget that had already been made a law by the State House of Assembly, having undergone legislative procedures (due or undue). If the governor obtained approval from the mace and gavel of the legislature, what then does one expect at the end of a protest? A new budget and repetition of the exercise?
Methinks some Akwa Ibom people prove too gullible and aggressive, always availing themselves to be cajoled into unrest without clearly defined aims or goals. Again, what did they say the protest sought to achieve?
I do not want to discuss the effects of Inibehe Effiong's inability to exonerate himself from the allegations making rounds that he received N20million from Obong Nsima Ekere to organise the said protest. I leave that one for him and his G(g)od.
Back to my governor. Your Excellency, the rudest executive decision I have heard of this year is your decision to erect a building worth N1.2b. Whether it is to be built home or abroad is not the question, but the truth is that we are in a difficult moment when the entire country is crying economic downturn, pensioners are dying without their entitlements, educational facilities across the state lie dilapidated, while rural communities have no access roads.
I am not sure who masterminded the assault and harassment against Inibehe and other Akwa Ibom indigenes who assembled in Lagos to protest against this your decision, but I am sure they are your supporters and promoters of your party.
Sir, if you are a democrat, indeed interested in returning as governor come 2019, I urge you to call your 'men' to order. With happenings as such, I bet your administration will gradually become the most unpopular in the history of democratic governance of our dear state. It is malodorous to beat a child and ask him not to cry. If the people cannot have their say at any time, you will be notorious for cruelty and shall remain wanting in everyday perceptions of the electorates.
You insensate thug who derives pleasure in beating up people, fighting in front of cameras and challenging the credibility of God who gave you functional brain which you've caused to become dysfunctional, congratulations.
You went, fought and proclaimed support for the governor. You vowed to wound or kill anybody who speaks against him. The scriptures cursed you already, so, I hope you know I do not have any word for you?
Your Excellency, dear protesters, able thugs and impotent House of Assembly, thank you all for disgracing me.
Yak aba!
- John Ntekim (Chief Priest)
