RE: BAFIL Vs OBA – Senator OBA opts for out of court settlement

The attention of Distinguished Senator Bassey Albert (OBA) Media office has been drawn to the above titled publication on Sitippe Mfin online and we wish to unequivocally state as follows :

1) That the story is absolutely false.

2) That our principal, Distinguished Senator Bassey Albert (OBA) has not initiated or contemplated initiating any out of court settlement with Mr Bassey Etim who never took part physically in the PDP primary in December 2014 as expected by the Electoral Act .

3) The truth even as affirmed by the Court of Appeal, Calabar is that Distinguished Senator Bassey Albert (OBA) representing Akwa Ibom North East in the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria had a landslide victory at the said primary and was declared the candidate of the party for the said 2015senatorial District election which the PDP hierarchy at the time and currently have alluded to Senator OBA’s victory. The Appellate Court had in their judgment noted that the Federal High Court 2, Uyo ruling was FRAUDULENTLY OBTAINED.

4)There is no way our principal can initiate talks with one who forged the delegates list and result sheet to deceive the Federal high Court 2, Uyo and unsuspecting members of the public.

5) Why will Mr Bassey Etim initiate this kind of propaganda when he knows he was not at the venue of the PDP primary conducted by PDP at Uyo township stadium at the time.

6) We strongly believe that Mr Etim should rather than engage in propaganda apologize to the people of Akwa Ibom North East (Uyo) Senatorial District for distracting their Senator, Obong Bassey Albert (OBA) whom they willingly gave their mandate to with unnecessary litigation.
