Why Buhari Didn’t Visit Benue After 73 Persons Were Killed – Adesina

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina says his principal could have stocked up political capital by visiting Benue state after suspected herdsmen killed 73 villagers, but did not because the President believed more in action than soothing words.

In an article entitled: ‘Why I stand with Buhari’, the presidential spokesman wrote that the Benue tragedy could have been exploited by an incumbent president seeking re-election to visit and impress the people with the right words but Buhari rather opted to swing into action.

An aspect of the essay read, “After primitive fury was unleashed in Benue, and about 73 people were left dead, a sitting President eyeing reelection could also play politics with it, visiting and muttering the right words to impress the people...
