Remember remember
The 23rd of September
In the year 1987
Glory just like heaven
The warm Wednesday wind
The happy people that still sing
A state was birthed
From her sister she wasn't separated
I still remember the drum beats
The bright sun that sent warm heat
The beautiful maidens that danced
And the young men that pranced
Oh the jubilee
Like the wedding at Galilee
A promise land
A fertile land
With beautiful spirited people
With lifestyles loving and simple
The only state named after the Creator
The Faithful Beginner, of course the Author
Akwa Abasi Ibom state
Free from strife and hate
With all her tribes loving one another
Because we are children from the same mother
I hail you oh mother land
I celebrate you oh promise land
Without any argument or debate
You are great, Akwa Abasi Ibom state
We stand with bravery
Happy 30th Anniversary
