NLC To Mark 40th Anniversary, Tomorrow

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Akwa Ibom State Chapter is on the verge of celebrating the 40th anniversary of the body in the State.      

The State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Etim Ukpong disclosed this to newsmen after an emergency general meeting of the State Executive Council meeting held at the Workers Solidarity Center, Atan Offot, Uyo the state capital on Monday, February 19, 2018.      

The celebration, coming from the directive of the National headquarters of the NLC, as espoused by Ukpong, would be used to assess Nigeria Labour Congress; Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow - as it's affecting the common interest of workers and the labour force in the country.    

The event will feature public lecture on the Gala/Award Ceremony on Friday by Prof Des Wilson of the University of Uyo.  There will also be prayers session for the Union, State and the country.

Other activities lined up for the epoch making occasion include cultural display, Women Get-together, where members and their spouses will be entertained.

There will also be novelty match where women wing of the Union will feature.

 According to the NLC Chairman, Comrade Etim Ukpong, the Gala/Award ceremony will hold at NUT House, IBB Way, opposite Ibom Hall Uyo; invitations are extend to all members, government officials and lovers of labour Union to attend.
