In continuation of promoting and supporting the Free and Compulsory Education policy of the Akwa Ibom State Government, the Zone B Deputy Coordinator, National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS), Comrade Akwaowo Clifford Ukpong and his team, visited Comprehensive Secondary School, Asuna, Etinan Local Government Area to share educational materials to students as part of his Solidarity Project.
It was a great pleasure for Comr. Akwaowo while addressing and interacting with the students who all gathered in their large number.
In his words, "Education is the passport to the future you all envision, what you see here, the free and compulsory education is what others in some state are yearning for, don't abuse it, believe in yourself and live your dreams. Each day gives you an opportunity to start a line of the future you wish to build. It won't be given on a platter of gold but only through struggle will the future be protected. Hold fast to the faith of greatness that all of you where born to be great".
High point of the event was the donation of Books and gift items to the students to encourage them to take their academics as number one priority. He used the opportunity to thank international NGO's for partnering with his office in the course of this advocacy for betterment of Educational System in Nigeria.
The Vice Principal, Mr. Daniel Udom who took Comr. Akwaowo and his team on a tour around the school infrastructures thanks the Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel for his strides in the educational sector but solicited for some intervention in the school.
Comr. Akwaowo on his remarks appeal for government usual intervention in the infrastructures and facilities in the school saying, "No student can learn properly without a good and conducive environment.
Comr. Akwaowo promised that he will continue to work with others and support efforts aimed at providing solutions to global intellectual challenges, while striving to create an environment where every Nigerian Student can achieve Academic Satisfaction and Personal Growth".
These and many more he has promised to do.
