RE: 2019 IKONO/INI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY*ACCORD PARTY ADOPTS VICTOR UDOFIA AS SOLE CANDIDATE*

I stumbled on a video online where Ndiya Usung Ikot Idaha Supreme Council paid a courtesy visit to the member representing Ikono State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Charles Udofia.

As a Stakeholder in Ikono Local Government Area, Ward 8 politics, i consider it important to drop my views after i have watched the video to the end.

As a democrat, the group has it right to choice and association.

They have done nothing wrong adopting Rt Hon Victor Charles Udofia for House of Representatives, come 2019. But what bothers me most is the Grand patron of the Group, Obong (Barr) Godwin Sampson Idiong.

Before i proceed, it may interest us to know that until this minute, i remain a member of the group "Ndiya Usung Ikot Idaha Supreme Council" but what i cannot guarantee is my continued membership after this publication.

Obong ( Barr.) Godwin Sampson Idiong in his speech has stated that Ward 8 is not interested in the House of Representatives seat, now and never. He called for the arrest of anyone from ward 8 seeking elections into the House of Representatives seat and subsequent prosecution. It is on record that he attempted to mortgage the rights of the largest ward in Ikono - ward 8 with a token of N5,000 each to a 8 man delegation of ACCORD PARTY.

He in his speech zoned the House of Assembly position to ward 8 but failed to mention that he has adopted Dr Anthony Usoro for the House of Assembly race.

It may interest us to know that Godwin Sampson Idiong is a son of late Obong Sampson Udo Idiong " Obong Ifiok Ikono".

One would ask the rationale behind their actions, why do they prefer Victor Udofia of ward 3 to Dr Anthony Usoro of ward 8 for the Green Chambers? Placing the both of them side by side, people who know the duo would testify that the University Lecturer and a one time Ikono/ Ini House of Representatives Aspirant" Dr Usoro" is far better than Victor Charles Udofia an Ex motor park tout with a fabricated SSCE result.

One would wonder why the group have not considered any other eminent son or daughter of ward 8 in the likes of Etteyen Archibong Esq; Charles Ndarake Esq ; Obongawan Lovina Umoefa, Nmanso Frank (PhD), to mention but few who are qualified for this position but resort to a man who for fear of incompetence was conspicuously missing during the joint sitting of the Cross River State and Akwa Ibom State Houses of Assembly, even as the Chairman House Committee on Youths, Sport and Security, he is available at the hallowed chambers once in a quarter of the year where serious state / parliamentary  matters are discussed.

One would wonder why Obong (Barr.) Godwin Sampson Idiong would prefer the House of Assembly position to ward 8 (Ikono south) and House of Representatives to ward 3 (Ikono Middle) haven't known that it is turn for Ikono South to complete its 2nd term as politically required.

It may interest us to know that, ward 8 in Ikono LGA is the largest ward in the area, with about 12,500 voters, over 40% of the total votes in Ikono local government area.

Is this not another case of monkey dey work, baboon dey chop? To whom much is expected, is much not suppose to be given?

How could Obong Godwin S. Idiong in his right senses adopt someone from a wrong zoning area if he is not being clouded by the 5,000.00 ( five thousand naira) grant he received from the state parliamentarian?

As for Ini Udom, the ACCORD PARTY Chieftain, Chairman Board of Trustees, Ndiya Usung Ikot Idaha Supreme Council, who happened to be the leader of the delegation, i am not surprise at his actions, as it is his normal lifestyle, but i urge him to refrain from his wrongful ways and emulate his ancestors, the likes of HRH, Etteidung Jacob, pioneer clan head of Ndiya clan and a key player in the recognition of Ndiya as a clan by the constituted authorities.

I want to remind His Excellency the Governor, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, of our undiluted loyalty and support to his administration.

I will not fail to thank, the Senate Minority Leader, Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, for extending his benevolence to the people of Ikono LGA as it was displayed in the commissioning of life touching projects on Saturday, 13th January, 2018.

I urge that all hands be on deck in ward 8, Ikono LGA to enable us recover what we have lost since the inception of democracy in 1999.
