The people of Ikono/Ini Local governments, yesterday 03, January 2018, passed a vote of no confidence on Hon. Iboro Ekanem, member Representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who they consider to be a not larger than life politician.
This was unanimously done as people gathered massively at De-trio schools Ikono, during a solemn Assembly organised under the auspice of Association of Home Based Politicians to ask God for positive intervention in IKONO/INI FEDERAL Constituency Affairs Come 2019 due to erroneous representation, greed and sleeping on duty ever since he stepped into office in 2015.

This was contained in a speech given by the National President Association of Home Based Politicians Mr David Akpan Ntuk popularly called "David Balm" who also is the Vice Chairman of PDP IKONO chapter, and held from the same community with Hon. Iboro Ekanem, he pointed out that it's time for the people of Ikono/Ini to come clean in order not to pay dearly later.
A prayer sequence which was led by Pastor Amos Etuk of "Mercy Seat Christian Centre" had it's Bible text read from the book of 2Chronicles 7:14" if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then i will hear from Heaven and will heal their land".
Another significant part of the event was a vote of confidence passed on Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel by Prince Nsisong ubong Ntuk a vigorous political activist and Chairman of Macaire Grassroot Movement in Ikono who noted the achievements of His Excellency the Governor and stated reasons he should return for second term. This was assented to by the entire Ikono/Ini People. Again, a vote of confidence was passed on Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, for his numerous achievements as the Senate Minority Leader by Hon. Nsikak Onoyom. Furthermore, a vote of confidence was also passed on the State PDP chairman by Hon. Itoro Okuren and seconded by Hon. Odudu Sunday Udo Akpan.

The Electorates thunderously passed a vote of confidence on Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-udo (MACAIRE), a renounce philanthropist and political leader of Ikono, who they regard as a pick of the bunch in the area and appealed to him to represent the area in 2019.
They demanded that authorized persons should be sent to the Political Leader of Ikono, Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-udo, to plead with him to accept their request to lead the Federal Constituency at the green chambers come 2019.
