EKONG SAMPSON LAUDS THE MATURITY OF PDP LOCAL GOVERNMENT ASPIRANTS ... restates determination of party faithful to hold the ground and win the game By: Edifon Abasi-obot

Special Adviser to the Governor on Political/Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ekong Sampson has commended aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party in the recent local government primaries for their show of maturity.
The Special Adviser made the commendation while speaking with pressmen after a meeting of Governor Udom Emmanuel with aspirants and candidates of the PDP for the upcoming local government elections in Akwa Ibom State, over the weekend.
Barrister Ekong Sampson said the meeting was part of critical conversation between the Governor and the political class. He described the meeting as a huge success, as it afforded His Excellency, the Governor and leader of the PDP in the State, aspirants in the party primaries and candidates of the party in the upcoming LG elections an opportunity to interact first hand.
Barrister Sampson revealed that the aspirants had praised Governor Udom Emmanuel for fulfilling his promise of meeting with them before and after the party primaries. He charged candidates of the party to integrate the aspirants into the campaign structure for the upcoming local government elections.
The Special Adviser commanded Governor Udom Emmanuel for promoting the zoning system which, he said, has played a stabilizing role in the polity and for his consistent engagement with stakeholders across the broadest strata of the Akwa Ibom polity.
Barrister Sampson said Governor Udom Emmanuel has continued to earn Akwa Ibom the respect of the larger Nigerian society, through his vision and innovations.
The Political Affairs helmsman said it was patriotic that despite the outcome of the party primaries, this aspirants came together to pledge to work for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s re-election and continuation of good governance in the State. He stressed that the aspirants reflected a strong current of opinion among Akwa Ibom people that Governor Udom Emmanuel deserves re-election.
Barrister Ekong Sampson reiterated that the PDP remains very strong on ground in Akwa Ibom State, reassuring that the party faithful are determined to hold the ground and win the game in the local government elections in December and subsequent polls.
